If you are a high school junior or senior currently enrolled at any Washington state public high school, or are home-schooled, you are eligible for Running Start.

Before you can register for classes, you must first to ����첥, establish placement, and complete the enrollment paperwork. Please visit our Get Started page to review all the steps to enroll as a Running Start student.

College-level classes for Running Start students are tuition-free! However, students are responsible for the cost of textbooks, transportation, and any mandatory student fees. ����첥 eligible for free or reduced-price lunch (FRPL) at their high school are eligible for the book loan and fee waiver program. 

• ����첥 eligible for FRPL at their high school can complete the fee waiver form in the enrollment packet.

Running Start courses are available at any of Washington’s 34 community and technical colleges. For the Seattle College District, follow the links below to learn more about taking Running Start courses at , or South Seattle Colleges.

Running Start credit will transfer to all state schools and universities in WA state.

For now, Running Start students may be eligible for summer funding.

Please work with your high school counselor to discuss your eligibility for summer Running Start funding. Your high school counselor will need to complete one of the following, depending on your eligibility:

If you are not participating in Running Start, you may be eligible to take summer classes through the Underage Program.
