A Look at the Updated John C. Hitt Library
With new study spaces, technology and seating, the additions to the library are intended to help students focus on collaboration and studying.

Designed around people rather than stacks of books,聽21st-century libraries, such as the newly renovated聽John C. Hitt Library, incorporate more natural lighting聽and more open spaces for learning, studying and聽collaborating.
Books are no longer front and center,聽but that doesn鈥檛 mean they鈥檙e gone. Instead, they 鈥斅燼long with other reference materials 鈥 are stored in聽an automated retrieval center built to house, protect聽and provide easy access to volumes with the click of聽a mouse. So students can spend more time searching聽for answers rather than looking for Dewey decimals.
